Open Forest At Kallista

This forest actually links to the forest at Selby but this area has a totally different feel. It offers a large cleared area of grassland surrounded by beautiful gum trees and the area is home to hundreds of butterflies during the summer months. There are dragons nests to explore which have been built by locals and a wide open path to travel along. Kookaburras are plentiful and lyrebirds can sometimes be spotted in the undergrowth. This spot is ideal for dawn or dusk sessions and is a 400 meter walk from the nearest carparking. As part of the Dandenong Ranges National Park dogs cannot be included in sessions at this location.

"Firstly, thank you so much Kate for our family photography session. I'll have to say that before even interacting with you, I could tell you were the type of person that I would like to work with by your very thorough and informative website; it made me feel comfortable booking as you provide so much information upfront. This was further reinforced with your excellent communication throughout the whole process, including the detailed questionnaire you provided prior to our session, so that it felt like you had a true sense of who we are, and what our expectations were before even meeting us. Your creativity was evident in your ideas for photos that resonated with us, that we would not have been able to think of on our own. It was clear that your knowledge of the location was not just from the perspective of a photographer, but from the heart of someone who loves where they live. You capture beauty in these environments that I'm certain not just anybody could do. It was fantastic how you captured everything we had hoped for in our session, without ever feeling rushed or forced. Last but not least, your warm and loving personality helped us to be at ease and get into a comfortable mindset, which was so important to us as a family with a young child. All of the little extra touches to make it a fun experience for our son are some of our favourite memories of the day; it had him asking the next day to 'go back to the forest with the bubbles'. We could tell you cared about us as people, not just as customers, and that ultimately made this a better experience than we could have ever hoped for. Because of this experience, we will love our photos even more, and look back on them so fondly."
